Face Moisturizer - How it Enhances a Skincare Program
A face moisturizer is a part of any good skincare treatment. Any quality skincare cream always serves in part as a face moisturizer. It protects, soothes, and helps to retain moisture and prevent the face from getting dry and irritated.
But a product designed specifically as a face moisturizer can be a great addition to a skincare program.
A good facial mask helps to rebuild skin and reduce wrinkles in one of two ways: deep face moisturizing or deep cleaning. I'll describe the two types of facial mask designed for these two different purposes -- yet each is a wonderful face moisturizer.
The vital factor is, of course, the ingredients.
A cleansing mask only needs to be used twice a month. Leave the mask on your face for about 30 minutes, then rinse it off.
Here are some of the top ingredients to look for:
Kaolin, a purified clay which absorbs oil and gently pulls out grime from your skin. Kaolin's mildly drying and disinfectant properties also help heal inflammation and blemishes.
Bentone gel improves the cleansing effectiveness of kaolin and leaves the skin feeling soft and silky.
Macadamia oil is easily absorbed into the skin and is proven to protect the skin cells from aging;
Shea Butter is a natural moisturizer and an emollient, which softens and soothes skin, making sure the mask doesn't dry the skin -- quite the opposite, in fact.
Allantoin, a natural compound in some herbs, has also been scientifically proven to stimulate skin growth and help restore damaged skin -- and it has the wonderful quality of increasing the water content of skin tissue
By the way, I recommend no green goops of any kind! An excellent cleansing mask can be a natural skin color when applied, and be easily absorbed, effectively disappearing as it soaks into your skin.
After 30 minutes you wipe off any excess, and your skin will feel great.
That's the cleansing mask, and you can see it serves as a good face moisturizer. Every other week, you can alternate with another type of facial mask:
A deep hydrating mask is the perfect face moisturizer.
(Hydrating is simply another word for moisturizing.)
A quality deep hydrating mask blends plant oils, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids and lipids.
These nutirients work together, giving the skin what it needs to help regenerate itself.
An outstanding nutrient for a face moisture is a trademarked ingredient called Rigin, which has been shown in clinical trials to deeply hydrate the skin around the face and neck, and make it firmer and softer.
A two-week test of Rigin applied in a gel showed a 24% improvement in skin hydration.
There you have the combination. Two different facial masks, designed for different purposes, but both complementing each other to give you an outstanding face moisturizer.
Check my website for suggestions for several skincare creams and the complementary facial masks I've mentioned, all of them effective as a face moisturizer.
